How do I connect the One to a portable loudspeaker?

NOTE: If the stethoscope and the loudspeaker are too close to each other, acoustic feedback can occur for both wired and wireless devices. To reduce acoustic feedback, face the loudspeaker away from the stethoscope and use a longer audio cable to create as much distance as possible between the two devices.

Though most loudspeakers with a deep bass will do, Thinklabs has tested the Beats Pill+ and recommends it as the choice for using with the One in teaching environments. Follow the steps below to set up the One with the Beats Pill+. If you use a different loudspeaker, please refer to the manufacturer's setup documentation.

Using a Wired Connection

STEP 1: Insert the 90-degree plug of the long male-to-male cable into the Thinklabs One.

STEP 2: Insert the plug on the other end of the male-to-male cable into the 3.5mm audio input in the rear of the Beat Pill+.

STEP 3: Turn on the Thinklabs One by clicking any of the four buttons.

STEP 4: Adjust the volume to a medium level on the One.

STEP 5: Turn on the Beats Pill+ and adjust the volume as needed. For more information, refer to the Beats documentation.

Using a Wireless Connection (Bluetooth)

STEP 1: Insert the supported Bluetooth transmitter into into the recessed jack on the side of the Thinklabs One.

For more information on setting up the transmitter, click here.

STEP 2: Set up the wireless connection between the supported Bluetooth transmitter and the receiver (loudspeaker). To view a sample of these setup steps, click here.

NOTE: The Bluetooth loudspeaker pairing procedure may vary depending on the manufacturer. Refer to the loudspeaker manufacturer's documentation for more information on connecting Bluetooth devices.

STEP 3: Turn on the Thinklabs One by clicking any of the four buttons.

STEP 4: Adjust the volume to a medium level on the One.

NOTE: You may also need to adjust the loudspeaker volume as well.
