How do I set up the Thinklink Mobile Kit?

Hardware Requirements

Before you get started, please make sure you have the following hardware items.

FAQ: What is the Thinklink Mobile Kit?

STEP 1: Insert the long audio cable plug into the lower left jack on the Thinklink audio adapter.

STEP 2: Insert the other end of the long audio cable plug all the way into the recessed jack on the Thinklabs One.

STEP 3: Insert the Thinklabs ear buds plug into the upper left jack on the Thinklink audio adapter.

 STEP 4: Insert the short audio cable plug into the lower right jack on the Thinklink audio adapter.

STEP 5: (OPTIONAL) Insert the other end of the short audio cable plug into the Apple Lightning to 3.5mm Jack Adapter jack. 

This step is for users who are connecting Thinklink to an Apple mobile device (iPhone or iPad) without a 3.5mm headphone jack. If your mobile device provides a 3.5mm headphone jack, skip this step and move to the next step.


STEP 6: Connect the short audio cable or Lightning Audio Adapter into the proper input port on your mobile device.

STEP 7: Set the Source switch on the Thinklink adapter to the middle position.

STEP 8: Set the Monitor switch on the Thinklink adapter to the left position.

This step enables you to listen to the stethoscope sounds during recording.

STEP 9: Download the free Thinklabs Wave app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.

The app appears in the store as follows.

STEP 10: Open the Thinklabs Wave app on your mobile device.

STEP 11: Click OK to enable the app to use the microphone.

NOTE: You will need to perform this step only when you open the Wave app for the first time.

The Thinklabs One now is ready to record sounds on your mobile device, as shown below.

STEP 11: Click Record to begin recording.
