FAQ: What are frequency filters and what do they do?
The Thinklabs One provides several frequency filters through which you can amplify various body sounds. By default, the One is pre-set with two "favorite" filters that enable you to quickly and easily transition between two frequently used frequencies. Favorites can include low-frequency filters for heart sounds, high-frequency filters for lung sounds, or full bandwidth for unfiltered sounds.
To switch between the favorite filters, click and release the Filter control button as shown on the image to the left. The two LEDs illuminated on the Filter Scale will "jump" from one favorite to the other. If you would like to select filters other than the pre-set options, follow the steps below.
STEP 1: Press any of the four control buttons for two seconds to power on the device. When the LEDs come on, release the button.
STEP 2: Press the Filter button for two seconds and then release it when the LEDs shift position from left to right on the Filter Scale.
NOTE: Each time you hold the Filter button for two seconds and then release it, the LEDs will shift one position from left to right on the Filter Scale.
STEP 3: Repeat Step 2 until the two LEDs on the Filter Scale reach the desired position on the scale.
STEP 4: Press and immediately release the Filter button to set the selected filter as your first favorite.
At this point, the first favorite is set to your desired filter, and the LEDs on the Filter Scale will automatically "jump" to the location of the second favorite filter, as shown in the following example.
NOTE: If you would like to set the second favorite filter, continue the steps below.
STEP 5: Press the Filter button for two seconds and then release it when the LEDs shift position to the desired location of the second favorite filter setting.
NOTE: When all the LEDs on the Filter Scale are illuminated, as shown above, the full bandwidth option is selected, which means no filter is used. Full bandwidth can be set as a favorite.
STEP 6: Press and immediately release the Filter button to set the selected filter as your second favorite.
The LEDs on the Filter Scale will immediately "jump" to back to the first favorite filter that you have already set on the device, as shown below.
At this point, any time you press and release the Filter button, the Filter Scale will jump between your two favorite filters.
